First Ship-to-Ship LNG Bunkering at Port of Rostock

Hamburg-based LNG supplier Nauticor, a unit of The Linde Group, completed the first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation at Germany’s Port of Rostock in late March when its 7,500 cubic meter capacity LNG bunker vessel Kairos fueled the offshore installation and decommissioning vessel Orion operated by Belgium’s DEME Group. Besides Orion, which was at Rostock to receive a new Liebherr 5,000-ton deck crane, the Belgian owner also operates three dual-fuel trailing suction hopper dredgers and one dual-fuel cable-laying vessel.
