Denmark’s Knud E. Hansen has developed the design of a 7,500-dwt hybrid ro/pax ferry that would utilize two propulsion engines with a combined power of 25.6 Megawatts driving twin screws to give a service speed of 23 knots. The 212-meter by 28.5-meter vessel would have a capacity for 700 passengers and 390 cars along with 2,955 lane meters of deck area for commercial vehicles.
The ship would be certified as a EuroClass Type A vessel and would be fully SOLAS compliant while adhering to Safe Return to Port requirements.
