New Orleans-based heavylift operator Intermarine is once again operating as an independent company following its break away from Hamburg-based Zeamarine, which has entered a restructuring process. Before its latest financial problems Zeamarine, which was formed in August 2018 through the merger of Germany’s Zeaborn and Intermarine, was considered the world’s fourth-largest multipurpose vessel operator. Since regaining its independence Intermarine has grown its fleet to nine vessels ranging between 6,000-dwt and 11,000-dwt in size and with a maximum lifting capacity of 400 tons.
