After the US-Canada border was closed to all but essential traffic in March both Blackball Ferry Lines and Clipper Vacations terminated their international services operated by Black Ball’s monohull Coho and Clipper’s catamaran Victoria Clipper. Although hope was held out for a late season return to service the two operators have since projected that neither will probably be able to operate this year because of the late start. At the height of the summer season Black Ball normally employs 130 full and part-time workers while more than 200 usually work at Clipper.
