The West Coast saw its largest container ship call in mid-April when Mediterranean Shipping Company’s 185,503-dwt MSC Anna visited the ports of Long Beach and Oakland to discharge and collect both full and empty boxes.
Normally employed on the long run between Asia and Europe via the Suez Canal, the 399.9-meter by 58.6-meter vessel was making a special trip to help rectify the container imbalance in the North America-China trade. Photo courtesy of the Port of Oakland.
