New Tug at Manzanillo

Mexico’s Snekke SA has placed the Robert Allan-designed tug RPM Manzanillo in service at Mexico’s Port of Manzanillo. Previously operated by Med Marine as Med Yarimca, 25.3-meter by 12.0-meter vessel is powered by twin CAT 3516 C diesels driving a Schottel SRP460 CP propulsion unit giving a bollard pull of 70 tons and a maximum speed of 13.5 knots.

Built by Med Marine at its Eregli Shipyard in Turkey, the new tug moves Snekke’s fleet up to three units at Manzanillo, which handles cargo moving to and from the Mexico City area.
