The Port of Long Beach has scheduled a pair of virtual public meetings for next week to discuss next year’s priorities for its Community Grants Program.

Potential grant applicants are invited to attend the workshops. Over the years, the program has funded projects and services that assist those directly affected by port-related activities. Past recipients have included The Children’s Clinic, St. Mary Medical Center, and the Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma.

Since 2009, the port has allotted more than $65 million and so far has committed $33.1 million.

The workshops are set to take place virtually from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, and from 4 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 9. Attendees may register for the Dec. 8 session and for the Dec. 9 session. Spanish translation is available by emailing grants@polb.com. A 72-hour notice is needed.
