Three community groups and programs will benefit from this year’s Port of Vancouver USA Community Fund.
The port’s $5,000 in grants were awarded to the Clark College Foundation, which plans to use $1,000 to pay for its annual International Day activities; the Vancouver Farmers Market, which intends to use its $2,500 toward its vendor training program to offer free training to small business owners encountering entrepreneurship challenges; and the Columbia Play Project, which plans to use its $1,500 toward at-home “Welcome to the Ecosystem” play kits centered around on the Columbia River and animals.
“The Community Fund has been an extremely rewarding program for the port,” said Community Relations Manager Julie Rawls, who administers the fund. “All the organizations we have worked with have produced incredible projects for the city and for students. We congratulate all the organizations receiving funds in 2022 and look forward to seeing their projects be successful.”
