The Port of Oakland saw its overall cargo volumes in November fall by double digits year over year, according to data released by the port Dec. 28. The Northern California seaport processed 131,929 loaded TEUs overall, a 15% drop when comparing this past November to November 2021. Full imports in November 2022 tumbled by 17.4% year over year with 68,646 TEUs, while exports dipped by 12.3% to 63,283 TEUs. Cargo volumes at the Port of Long Beach dropped 21% last month year over year, according to new data released Dec. 14 by the Southern California seaport. Long Beach moved 588,742 TEUs overall in November, with imports falling 28.4% to 259,442 TEUs and empty containers tumbling 25.2% to 204,313 TEUs when compared to the same time last year. The Port of Los Angeles last month saw its overall cargo numbers drop by 21% year over year, moving 639,344 TEUs in November, according to new data released by the seaport Dec. 14. Los Angeles processed 307,080 TEUs in loaded imports in November, falling 24% from the same time last year. The number of empty containers coming through the port also dropped 26% from November 2021 with 242,148 TEUs. Loaded cargo container volumes at the Port of Oakland dropped 7.9% last month from the same time a year ago, according to data released by the port Oct. 28.
