A new, modern oil spill response barge that’s expected to operate in Alaskan waters has been delivered by Seattle-based marine engineering and naval architecture firm Elliott Bay Design Group and Anacortes shipbuilder Dakota Creek Industries, EBDG announced April 23. EBDG partnered with Ottawa, Ontario-based Adaptive Marine Solutions, Inc. to provide the lofting and systems modeling for the new 200-foot barge Allison Creek, which the companies say was designed specifically to handle the rigors of Prince William Sound and to help further enhance the region’s emergency response capabilities.
