Port of Seattle to Build Maritime Innovation Center

The Port of Seattle plans to build a Maritime Innovation Center in the Ship Supply Building at Fishermen’s Terminal, the port announced Aug. 8. Port commissioners have agreed to invest $32.6 million toward building the center, which would house incubator and accelerator programs for businesses and nurture workforce development programs in the maritime industry. Kongsberg Maritime Appoints New President

Lisa Edvardsen Haugan is expected to take over as the new president of Norwegian marine technology Kongsberg Maritime on Nov. 1, the company announced this month. Foss Maritime Gets New Chief Operating Officer

Chris Mack Jr. is the new chief operating officer of Foss Maritime, the Seattle-based company announced via social media on July 20. POLB Exec Director Appointed To National Advisory Committee

Port of Long Beach Executive Director Mario Cordero has been appointed to the Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, the port announced June 14.
