The Port of Oakland and the West Oakland Job Resource Center are teaming up to provide training for workers for green jobs in the transportation and logistics industry, the port announced Sept. 26. The center, which launched the “Greening the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Industry” initiative, netted a $350,000 California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program grant, which is part of the commission’s $100 million annual investment to communities by fast-tracking the development and deployment of green transportation and fuel technologies, the port said.
