The Indonesia-flagged crude oil tanker Jag Leela suffered an extensive fire in mid-May while docked for repairs at the Port of Belawan in North Sumatra. Two explosions of undetermined origin were heard immediately before the fire broke out, taking the lives of 7 workers and injuring a number of others.
It is not yet known if the 105,148-dwt South Korean-built vessel, which is nearly 23 years old, will be repaired and returned to service or sent for demolition.
