China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding plans to deliver the 18,600 cubic meter-capacity LNG bunkering tanker Gas Agility to Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines within the second quarter of this year as the world’s largest vessel of its type.
To be operated for French energy supplier Total, the 135.5-meter-long ship will be positioned in Northern Europe where it will supply LNG to CMA CGM’s nine ultra large container vessels (ULCVs) for a period of at least ten years.
It is to be followed by a second identical bunkering tanker ordered at the Hudong-Zhonghua facility in December, also to be owned by MOL and operated by Total, which will be positioning in the Mediterranean.
