NWSA’s Terminal 46 Welcomes First Automobile Vessel in 20+ Years

For the first time in more than two decades, the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 46 welcomed the arrival of an automobile vessel, according to the Northwest Seaport Alliance. On Feb. 2, the GLOVIS America logistics services vessel Silver Sky called at the terminal, carrying more than 2,500 automobiles bound for KIA and Hyundai dealerships in Canada. GLOVIS America, UWL, Swire Shipping Honored with Cargo Anchor Award

Three shipping companies have been recognized for their contributions to significantly growing cargo volumes at the ports of Seattle and Tacoma and their economic impact to the region. Logistics service companies GLOVIS America, UWL and Swire Shipping were honored with the Cargo Anchor Award, the Northwest Seaport Alliance announced Oct. 13. GLOVIS America contributed to the 125% spike in auto volumes at NWSA from 2022 when the logistics provider for Hyundai and KIA vehicles selected Tacoma as its gateway.
