The Port of Everett said June 5 that it’s receiving a financial boost from state lawmakers to fund dock electrification at Pier 3 and modernization projects. The Washington State Legislature has awarded the seaport $5 million in community project funding to fast-track efforts to electrify the 650-foot Pier 3 and update port infrastructure and utilities. The projects aim to lower emissions generated from operations at the port, which include cutting diesel generator use at Pier 3.
