General Dynamics NASSCO Delivers Future USNS Harvey Milk

San Diego-based General Dynamics NASSCO has delivered the future USNS Harvey Milk, the second vessel for the U.S. Navy fleet of John Lewis-class oilers, the company announced July 11. Capable of carrying 157,000 barrels of oil, the 742-foot-long oiler was created to move fuel to naval carrier strike group vessels at sea. It also has a large capacity for dry cargo and aviation capability. This vessel is part of an initial six-ship naval contract NASSCO secured in 2016. San Diego-based shipbuilder General Dynamics NASSCO has laid the keel for the future USNS Robert F. Kennedy, honoring the late U.S. Attorney General and New York senator, the company announced Dec. 5. Maryland Lt. Gov.
