Panama City, Florida-based Eastern Shipbuilding Group has been contracted to build a new trailing suction hopper dredge for Cranford, New Jersey-headquartered Weeks Marine. To be delivered by the first quarter of 2023 as R.B. Weeks, the 356-foot by 79.5-foot vessel will be a sister to the 8,550 cubic yard capacity Magdalen, a twin screw trailing suction hopper dredge built by Eastern for Weeks in 2018.
