Mariners and those in the commercial fishing industry have an opportunity next month to learn how to deal with hypothermia, near drowning and other First Aid situations while on the water.
Washington Sea Grant and the Port of Seattle Fishermen’s Terminal plan to host a Coast Guard-approved First Aid at Sea workshop on Feb. 24.
The workshop plans to cover various topics such as CPR, patient assessment, hypothermia and cold water response, shock and trauma, burns and fractures and choking and patient immobilization.
The workshop is $100 per person or $50 for commercial fishermen. Attendees must register for the event via online to the link here, or by reaching out to Sarah Fisken at (206) 543-1225 or via email at email@example.com.
The workshop is expected to take place in the Nordby Conference Room at the Nordby Building at Fishermen’s Terminal in Seattle.
