The Chamber of Shipping of America has bestowed its Jones F. Devlin Awards to Crowley Maritime for the safe operation of 90 vessels the company owns or manages, Crowley announced July 24.

The award spotlights the experience and commitment of those who are responsible for safe vessel operations. It’s given to vessels operating for two or more years without a crew member missing a full turn at watch due to occupational injury.

In 2022, Crowley captains and crew members throughout its global fleet reached a combined 523 years of accident-free service, spanning from two to 24 years among its fleet of tugboats, tank vessels and container vessels without a loss time injury, according to the company.

“The Devlin Awards recognize and celebrate the exceptional individuals within our company who have consistently raised the bar to exemplify our foundational value of safety,” Crowley Shipping Vice President of Support Services Cole Cosgrove said.

“With safety integral to everything we do – at sea and shoreside, we are honored to share our appreciation of our mariners’ hard work and dedication, keeping our people and communities safe,” he added.
