Port of Long Beach, Terminals Awarded Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Grants

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently has the Port of Long Beach, its marine terminals and its first responders grants toward the safety and cargo efficiency of the nation’s second busiest seaport. The port announced Oct. 23 that it has secured more than $2.6 million from DHS’ Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to bolster cybersecurity, enhanced drone detection capabilities and improving network infrastructure that helps cargo movement. DHS Honors San Diego, Seattle Employees

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently hosted awards ceremonies at Coast Guard Sector San Diego and Coast Guard Base Seattle to spotlight the contributions of nearly three dozen employees. Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security John K. Tien was in Seattle on Thursday, April 28 to honor eight employees and in San Diego on Friday to honor 24 employees with the Secretary’s Award. Recipients included Coast Guardsmen, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and Customs and Border Protection agents.
