Russia’s Sovcomflot has taken delivery of the 174,000 cubic meter capacity LNG carrier SCF La Perouse from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries for operation under a long-term time charter agreement with French energy major Total. The new vessel features a slow-speed dual-fuel X-DF engine and is to be followed by two more sister ships using the same powerplant later this year.
Their delivery will bring the Sovcomflot fleet to more than 150 vessels with a combined deadweight of 12.8 million tons.
