The Port of Los Angeles kicked off 2025 with the best January for cargo in its history. Cargo Dwell Times Down at LA, Long Beach Ports: PMSA

The length of time that cargo containers were dwelling at the Los Angeles and Long Beach seaports in November declined month-over-month, according to data released Dec. 19 by the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association. The average time containers lingered on marine terminals at both ports was 2.8 days, a drop from 3.5 days the previous month. The amount of time that cargo containers linger at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach appears to be decreasing, according to new data released Oct. 14 by the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association. The length of time that a container stayed on the docks before leaving by truck was 4.2 days in average in September, trimming the average by nearly a day from 5.1 days the previous month. Port of Long Beach Records Busiest-Ever July

The Port of Long Beach said that it saw its best July ever last month when it processed 785,843 TEUs, according to new data released by the seaport Aug 11. Last month’s overall volumes narrowly topped the previous record month, July 2021, by 0.13%. The port netted its busiest July even though imports last month dipped 1.8% to 376,175 TEUs and exports dropped slightly by 0.5% to 109,411 TEUs year over year.
