Pasha Hawaii joined Port of Oakland officials in christening the m/v Janet Marie, Pasha’s new 774-foot “Ohana Class” liquified natural gas container vessel, the port announced Aug. 9. The second of two “Ohana Class” LNG vessels commissioned by Pasha Hawaii, the new Jones Act ship exceeds year 2030 emission standards for ocean vessels set by the International Maritime Organization. Features include an energy-saving modern engine, optimized hull form, and an underwater propulsion system that the company says contains a highly efficient rudder and propeller. Pasha Hawaii Activates Maui Disaster Response Efforts

Pasha Hawaii said Aug. 11 that its supply chain routes are fully operational as support efforts for Maui wildfire relief are underway. The company said that it has enacted its emergency response plan, which includes prioritizing emergency rations, foodstuffs and medical supplies via available barge capacity to Maui and its direct vessel roll-on/roll-off service. Pasha Hawaii operates two fixed-day direct vessel calls per week from the U.S. West Coast to Honolulu, with twice weekly connections into Maui for the container business.
